Formed from the ashes of 415, the ERIC MARTIN BAND
were expected to be the next big thing from the Bay Area, fronted by fresh faced vocalist Eric Martin (who could count KID COURAGE as another of his former bands). With management from the same team that plotted the rise of JOURNEY, the act's 'Sucker For A Pretty Face' debut album
was co-produced by JOURNEY, soundman Kevin Elson and
.38 SPECIAL producer Rodney Mills. It featured covers of
the Franke Miller / Andy Fraser penned 'Don't Stop' and
Gary O' Conner's 'Just Another Pretty Boy'.

Despite the radio oriented nature of the record and short
tours opening for ZZ TOP, MOLLY HATCHET and QUARTERFLASH, America failed to take the bait and
the group would split as Martin was guided towards a career
in AOR as a solo artist.

Of the other members of the ERIC MARTIN BAND only drummer Troy Luccketta would achieve major success as a member of TESLA, having joined the group in their original incarnation of CITY KIDD...

Of course, ERIC MARTIN, after a batch of solo albums,
later created the internationally renowned MR. BIG with
ex-TALAS, UFO and DAVID LEE ROTH bassist Billy
Sheehan and former RACER X guitarist PAUL GILBERT.
The band would eventually hit the number 1 spot in the American singles chart, justifying those who had faith in
the singer's undoubted ability. Martin struck out solo once
more upon the demise of MR. BIG in 2002
